Scientific Solutions ® Inc.,

BaseBoard ® 50 Position Screw Terminal

Screw Terminal ST50

To interface the features on the BaseBoard to external equipment, screw terminal boards are available. For access to the BaseBoard connectors, a compact 40-position unit (approx.. dimensions: 3" X 5" X 2-1/2") with a double rack of clamp style screw terminals is available. For the Opto-Isolation modules, a 50 position terminal is available. A cable is included with the Termination boards.

Compact Screw Terminals allows direct access to the Digital I/O on the BaseBoard

Screw Termination Units:

Scientific Solutions offers screw terminals for direct connection to the BaseBoard / ISA or BaseBoard / PCI DeskTop Unit Digital I/O connectors 1, 2, 3 and 4.  The screw termination units are compact and provide a convenient method for connecting discrete wires to the BaseBoard’s Digital Input/Output signals.  Each section of the Base Board can have its own individual screw terminal.  Both 40pin (for use without Opto modules) and 50pin (for use with Opto modules) are available.

The BaseBoard / ISA uses 40pin connectors for direct Digital I/O connection and 50pin connectors for Opto-Isolated Digital I/O connections.

The BaseBoard / PCI can use either 40pin or 50pin connectors for direct Digital I/O connections (depends upon how it is configured by Scientific Solutions) and also uses the 50pin connectors for the Opto-Isolated Digital I/O connections.

Digital I/O 50 pin Screw Terminal (BaseBoard / PCI)

When you have the BaseBoard / PCI DeskTop front panel 1, 2, 3 or 4 connectors wired to the internal P150, P250, P350, or P450 - then you will have 50pin connectors on the front of the DeskTop Unit.  You can connect a 50 position screw terminal to the front panel connector.  The digital I/O signals are then connected to the screw terminals and are transmitted to the BaseBoard via a ribbon cable.  The ribbon cable is connected between the screw terminal and the DeskTop front panel 50pin digital I/O connector.  The striped edge of the ribbon cable connects to Pin 1.

Note: The BaseBoard / ISA does not have a 50 pin direct I/O option, and uses the 40pin screw terminal instead.

Opto Isolation Out 50 pin Screw Terminal

When you have an Opto-Isolation OUT module installed in, then you will have 50pin connectors.  You can connect a 50 position screw terminal to the front panel connector. The Opto-Isolated Digital I/O signals are then connected to the screw terminals and are transmitted to the Opto-Isolation Module via a ribbon cable.  The ribbon cable is connected between the screw terminal and the DeskTop front panel 50pin Opto-Isolation connector.  The striped edge of the ribbon cable connects to Pin 1.

Opto-Isolation In 50 pin Screw Terminal

When you have an Opto-Isolation IN module installed then you will have 50pin connectors for the Digital Input signals.  You can connect a 50 position screw terminal to this connector.  The Opto-Isolated Digital Input signals are then connected to the screw terminals and are transmitted to the Opto-Isolation Module via a ribbon cable.  The ribbon cable is connected between the screw terminal and the BaseBoard outfitted with the Opto-Isolation module.  The striped edge of the ribbon cable connects to Pin 1.
